Hamburg, NY (RestaurantNews.com) Lime House Sushi and Ramen has promised to donate 3% of its total sales each Monday for until the end of June to help earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar. Lime House’s founder, Thanda Win, was born in Myanmar and still has her roots in the quake-stricken country.
“I always have my birth country in my heart. I am ready to help out in any way I can in their times of need, especially right now,” said Thanda. Last March 28, a staggering magnitude 7.7 earthquake rocked the Burmese city of Mandalay, taking the lives of more than 3,600 people. Rescue and recovery efforts continue to this day, and the death toll is expected to rise.
Since it launched, Lime House has always been committed to serving their community, including Thanda’s home country. Community engagement and involvement is a core success principle of the Lime House brand. “When tragedies like the recent earthquake in Myanmar hit, I’m ready to offer help. They need the money more than I do here,” added Thanda.
Thanda also encouraged both old and new customers: “If you want to help out too, please come and dine with us on Mondays. We will automatically donate 3% of what you pay for your meals. Not only will you enjoy our selection of sushi and ramen; you also become a force for good.”
“If anyone would like to, they can donate more through our GoFundMe,” added Thanda. Donors may find the details through the GoFundMe link or they may visit the Lime House Facebook page. “Any amount you give will go a long way for each earthquake victim helped.”
